Institutional development: modernizing the transport industry - creating opportunities
The NGO “Foundation for Institutional Development” is a team of experts in the field of transport, good governance, anti-corruption policy and law.
We work to make the Ukrainian transportation sector modern, accessible and closer to European standards.
Our main areas of activity:
Our goal is to promote sustainable reforms in the sector, support vulnerable groups in accessing professions in transport, and help Ukraine meet EU standards. Through pilot projects, we not only create new career paths, but also help lay the institutional groundwork for systemic change.
1. Empowerment of women and other vulnerable groups
We launch projects that help women acquire new professions in the transportation sector, such as truck or bus drivers. This helps overcome the staff shortage and promotes gender equality.
2. Institutional development of state and municipal enterprises
We help transport companies become more transparent, efficient and compliant with the principles of good governance. This is the basis for sustainable reforms.
3. Promoting European integration in the field of transport
We support the implementation of EU norms and standards in Ukraine's transportation policy to ensure safe, environmentally friendly and convenient transportation.
4. Reform of educational programs and standards
We are working to update professional and educational standards to meet the needs of the market and the requirements of European integration. We organize training courses, workshops and information campaigns to develop professional skills in the transport sector.
On training and employment of women bus drivers
Expanding the professional potential of women in passenger transport is a free program aimed at developing the professional skills of 100 women.
Project Goal:To create new employment opportunities for women in the field of passenger transport and to expand their access to the labor market by training female bus drivers in accordance with the requirements of Ukraine’s transport reform and European standards.
The pilot project on training and employing women bus drivers is implemented by the Foundation for Institutional Development at the initiative of the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, in partnership with UN Women and with financial support from Sweden.
On training and employment of women truck drivers
The pilot project on training women truck drivers aims to meet the growing demand for drivers in the transport sector and to promote gender equality in the profession.
As part of the project, 100 women are undergoing training, acquiring the necessary qualifications and obtaining a Category “C” or “CE” driver’s license, which permits them to operate trucks.
The goal of the project is to create new employment opportunities for women in the field of freight transport through retraining for Categories “C” and “CE”, and to address the needs of the labor market.
The pilot project on training and employing women truck drivers is implemented by the Foundation for Institutional Development at the initiative of the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
